November 7-10, Honolulu, Hawai'i
We encourage graduate students pursuing research related to American studies, Asian American studies, or Latino studies to attend the annual conference of the American Studies Association.
We can reimburse the following costs associated with attendance at the ASA conference, or other similar interdisciplinary conferences, upon submission and approval of one’s conference application through SAFE:
- Economy class airfare
- Conference registration fees
- Reasonable accommodations during the conference
Funding for approved applications will be disbursed to recipients after receipts have been uploaded into SAFE (no later than 30 days after the conference).
Students are eligible for one trip during their tenure at Princeton, up to a maximum reimbursable amount of $2000. We will consider supporting a second trip to ASA or other interdisciplinary conferences, as funds allow, if the student is invited to present a paper.
Interested students should apply online in SAFE prior to making arrangements for their proposed trip, and in their application include information about the conference, reason for attending, and a proposed budget. Graduate students whose enrollment status qualifies them to use SAFE are eligible to apply for this funding.
