To launch her new book, Magical Habits, Assistant Professor of English and American Studies Monica Huerta is hosting Personal Limits, a virtual conversation series about contemporary experiments in personal writing.

In this second installment, Huerta speaks with Lili Loofbourow, who is a staff writer at Slate and whose work is featured in Best American Essays 2019. She is the recipient of the Virginia Quarterly Review’s prize for creative nonfiction for “The Male Glance” in 2018 and for “Bull Shipping” in 2015. She has written for The New York Review of Books, The New York Times Magazine, The Guardian, and many other prominent publications. A book of her creative nonfiction essays is forthcoming.
