Simeon Man is assistant professor of History of University of California, San Diego, where he teaches courses in Asian American history and U.S. transpacific history. His book, Soldiering through Empire: Race and the Making of the Decolonizing Pacific, is forthcoming from the University of California Press (January 2019).
